How digital media has changed the way we receive our news

News media has changed massively for the last quarter century. The newspaper is still printed, but increasingly, people turn to the internet for the latest news.

Online news sites have a big advantage compared to printed news media. They can post articles and the scope of the latest news in a few minutes after that happens. With Twitter, Instagram and other leading social media platforms, the news provider can be in the middle of the action, as happened, direct reporting events.

This significantly changes the type of news that we read regularly, and has changed how and when we read it. While many of us will still enjoy reading on the relaxed morning of the newspaper, this luxury tends to be sent to lazy Sunday morning. They are no longer something we all do every day. We are much more likely to scroll bait news on our favorite news provider websites. While we are on the train, as long as coffee is fast at work, waiting for a boiling kettle, or whenever we want, we can use our mobile devices, laptops and PCs to access the latest news.

Statistics show that it is increasing, every time people have a few minutes, they tend to take advantage of their favorite news sources to get the latest updates on the subject given.

21st century spaces must change and adapt too, as a result of this massive shift in the way we access and read our news. Traditionally, because news items are taken, they will go through a number of shootings of journalism, following the editorial command chain. New news items will be approved, then, a journalist will do it, forward it to the sub-editor, which will then do it before forwarding it to the editor for the final edit to enter, right before entering.

Today, the system is very similar. The difference is that all these processes often need to take a few seconds, or minutes, not hours or days! The public demands their news as soon as it happens, and the news maker must respond, almost instantly.

Today, speed is the basis of quality journalism. Competitive news providers try to repair each other by becoming the first with news that violates, whatever the subject is. And technology plays a big role in making and disseminating the news very quickly.

One large growth area where technology has enabled the extraordinary coverage of Breaking American News is the ability to provide direct coverage. A journalist can send updates, articles, and video recordings directly, directly from their mobile devices. It has the potential to make anyone a news reporter. The more today, we see reports using video recordings, tweets and photos taken by community members about who the scene is, and witnessed the ‘news’ as it happened.

We have more choices and control our news than before. We fully control what we read and when we read it. Most people choose the news provider they like, preparing preferences so that they immediately see updates about the news that interests them. Then, they entered whenever it suited for them.
